You are not crazy and you are not alone! | CFS Health

You are not crazy and you are not alone!

If you are are struggling with M.E/CFS , Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome you might feel like that right now but you are not my friend.

Your body might be going crazy and your brain (monkey mind) might feel all over the place.

But that is normal.

Here’s why.

Firstly your body has been in overload for too long.

You have either done way too much for a long time and you body is screaming for a nice rest. Or you have become de-condotioned and your body is aching and screaming but you feel stuck.

Not to mention the symptoms that you are experiencing on top of that.

And..

Understandably you can feel out of sorts emotionally. You feel like you are losing your mind. One minute you are hopeful, the next an anxious mess. You might feel good for an hour an then terrible for 23 hours next. Sound familiar?

The good news is you are not crazy and no you are not losing your mind.

Your brain is on over drive trying to figure out what is going on with your body. It is being over protective and trying to fight against any threat that is perceived.

So you are not actually crazy. Your brain and body is just in overdrive and trying it’s best to get back on top of things.

So many clients on their assessment call with me ask me worryingly if this is all normal?

Is this normal to feel this symptom?

Is this normal to be this sick?

Am I ever going to get better?

I totally understand why they are in such a state.

Two things I say back to these clients.

Yes it is normal,

No you are not going crazy,

Yes you can get better.

The most important thing though at this stage is to get out of that worrying state and get into a calmer position so you can start the recovery journey.

During the assessment call we go over what are the things holding the client back.

Whether it is sleep, nutrition, setbacks and symptoms, lack of strength and de-condition, mindset/anxiety or progressing. It is all individual.

That’s why it is so important to have an effective/ easy plan for the individual. Not just a one size fits all.

I say easy because you don’t need to put hard on top of hard.

What you are going through is already hard so your body and brain needs easy, not hard.

Anyway. You are not crazy, and you are not alone. Everyone I have met has gone through this stage. It’s normal but no need to make it normal forever.
