Hi, I’m Toby Morrison. I created the CFS Health Recovery Program after suffering M.E/CFS myself.

Before recovering, I suffered through the pain and frustrations of M.E/CFS. The lack of medical help, the misunderstood nature of M.E/CFS and the lonely, isolating feelings I carried with me through this debilitating illness ultimately led me to create the program that I wish I had, and so desperately needed in my life when I was unwell.

Since the day I was born I was an energiser bunny, always running around, always getting the most out of myself, full of energy.

I had a great childhood and in my teens I was pursuing a basketball career. I was one of the fittest kids in my school when my world came crashing down. Originally what felt like the flu turned out to be glandular fever. At the time I thought nothing of it. In my head I thought I will be better in a few days. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months. I went from running 10 KM a day, going to school full-time and playing/training for basketball 7 days a week to sleeping 16-18 hours a day and struggling to stay awake at the dinner table. Brain fog, muscle aches and pains and flu-like symptoms plagued my body and brain. Blood test after blood test left me and my family more confused.

It wasn’t until we saw a sports specialist who finally diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

On the one hand I felt relieved for the first time since falling ill, finally I had an answer. The only problem was, there was no cure or answer to overcome it. What was initial relief soon turned into despair when the doctor said there was nothing he could do to help me. My family and I went on a journey to get the right help. You name it, I tried it. At one point I was popping 50 supplement tablets a day and seeing all kinds of people to fix me. Sometimes I’d feel a bit better, but nothing ever seemed to help long term. After TWO years of spending over $10,000 in treatments, I realised I was putting way too much effort and energy into finding someone to fix my problems for me with little results and that, ultimately, it was up to me to make the changes and help myself recover from CFS.

Doctors kept saying, just walk more, sleep better, eat a good diet… But it wasn’t as easy as that, I could barely walk more than one minute without feeling sick, my sleep was never consistent, and I didn’t know what I should eat for me. There was no actual practical specific help.

I was lucky enough to see Dr Lionel Lubitz from the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, he decided to put me into a 4-week inpatient hospital program. I improved a little bit, I had a long way to go but it was the first time I felt hopeful. So, I continued on with what I learnt and went on my own recovery journey and tried and tested lots of different things. Some worked, others didn’t. But eventually I started improving more and more. My strength started coming back, my energy started coming back, my confidence and ability to do more things were coming back. Being able to go to events, birthday parties or even friends’ houses were massive wins for me.

Eventually I was well enough to start work again, and even well enough to go to the gym and start to train my body more, I then started studying health and fitness as this was my passion. It wasn’t one thing that got me better, it was everything I was doing holistically that got me better. Different things at different times. Dr Lionel Lubitz, who wrote the foreword for my book, and has referred many patients to my program said, “It’s not always what you do, but how you do it”. And that is why I created this program to help you step by step rebuild, recondition and gain insight to improve the quality of life and get back to doing what you love because it is exactly what I needed when I was sick.

Do I have to follow the program week by week and do I have to do it all?
No - The program is delivered to you in STEP BY STEP MODULES that you follow at your own pace. You have 24/7 access to the modules. If you are starting at the beginning of recovery, it is recommended to start from module one however if you want specific help in one area, you can skip straight to the specific module you need to focus on.
Is this program going to push me?

Do I have to stop taking my medication or do I have to take any supplements for this program?

Do I have to do Exercise or is there Graded Exercise in the program?

No - You do not have to do any exercise, in fact initially exercise isn't what you need, you don’t need to push an already pushed body. Instead we have a REM (Restorative Movement Program) Which again you can follow at your own pace, when you are ready. We do have a progressive movement plan/module in the program for those (when able) to start re-conditioning their physical bodies in a safe effective way. All the lessons and exercises/movements are explained in the modules. You will be taught when the appropriate time to do this and when to not do anything as well.

Does it work for older people? I heard that older people can't recover.

Fortunately for you, that is a false subjectable claim that is not true. We have had many people in in their 40s, 50’s and 60’s+ greatly improve and recover through this program. Just go to our youtube channel to hear some of their personal stories.
